OTHER OPENING (AT RIVERSIDE BUT NOT AN EMPLOYEE OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT):

Literacy Tutor Needed at Riverside Elementary for 2014-2015 School Year
Part - time Literacy Tutor Needed at Pleasantview Elementary for 2014-2015 School Year

Tutors are needed to help children succeed in school by giving them the extra support they need to read. Minnesota Reading Corps—the nation’s largest state AmeriCorps program—trains literacy tutors to impact children in schools across Minnesota. We are looking to place tutors at Riverside Elementary to commit a year of service and change the world of struggling students.

As a tutor, you will implement research-based strategies to help children believe in themselves and succeed in reading by the end of third grade—all while growing your career network and new skills.  You will receive training, a living allowance (about $1000 per month), an education award of up to $5,645 (may also be used for loan forgiveness or saved for a grandchild), no-premium health insurance, possible child-care credit, and the reward of making a real impact in your community.

Give a year of service to grow our communities and your own career. Apply today to become a tutor! Go to www.MinnesotaReadingCorps.org to apply or for more detailed information. Strong preference is given to tutors who can start serving August 10, 2014. Send questions to recruitment@servemnaction.org. The contact for Riverside Elementary is: Tricia Christopher 507-847-5963 EXT 3115 tricia.christopher@jccschools.com .  Apply through the Reading Corps.  The JCC application is not needed as this position is not through the school.
